Skills & Goods Exchange and Other Payment Alternatives Life is about exchange. Exchange is a good thing: it allows a person to receive without indebtedness. Exchange is a gesture of respect, creates empowerment, and encourages community. For these reasons, Chiyu Center does not advertise "free" treatments. We are, however, very happy to work with you to create satisfying exchange.
Money is simply a standard of energetic exchange. Money is useful because its value can be easily exchanged for other items and services. At the same time, we know that there are fields that do not earn a disposible income beyond daily life necessities and that such work can be deeply satisfying. Many such fields have valuable skills and goods to exchange.
Examples of folks we like to trade with include farmers, mechanics, builders, seamstresses, and carpenters. Examples of trades we are glad to accept include: a share in a CSA or other local organic or natural farm-share; self-farmed organic produce, eggs, goat or cow cheese, yogurt, milk, and raw honey; auto or bicycle repair and maintenance; custom, quality self-made clothing and textiles; and other similar living skills. We'd love to work with someone who has architecture, carpentry, and sustainable, alternative-energy home-design and home-building skills.
If you feel most comfortable exchanging money for treatment, that's great! The idea is to pay what you feel comfortable paying in acknowledgment of the value of the treatment. We offer discounts to our clients on a case-by-case basis. We are happy to offer these payment alternatives for our diverse clientle. If you will be utilizing any of the above alternative methods, please call Erika Marie at 503.995.0944 or email erika@chiyucenter.com. We are honored and glad to work with you!
